My journey with sound began through grief
After losing someone incredibly close to me, I found myself searching for ways to process a loss I didn’t really have words for.
I went to my first sound bath in Florida not knowing what to expect or anyone there. It was two hours long, in a room of around 30 people, none of whom I knew. I simply lay there and allowed myself to listen.
At the end of the session, we were invited to say aloud the name of someone we wanted to send the energy we had created in the room to.
I said his name.
I was holding the necklace I wore containing some of his ashes, and in that moment, I felt something shift within me. It was difficult to explain. I just felt a sense of connection, release and peace that I hadn’t experienced since losing him.
We were then invited to choose an oracle card. I turned mine over.
Aengus, the Irish god of love. Twin Flame.
Of all the cards I could have chosen, in that particular moment, this was mine.
Whether you believe in signs, energy, vibration or a little bit of the “woo woo,” something about that experience opened a door for me.
It made me curious.
Curious about sound. About vibration. About the nervous system. About the ways we can find stillness and connection when words aren’t enough.
That first sound bath stayed with me. It became the beginning of a journey that eventually led me from experiencing sound for myself to studying it, training in it and now creating those spaces for others.
